River Travellers

Emanuela ‘Reiziger’ was born in 1965 at Moederheil, a maternity home in Breda. There, she was abandoned by her mother. River Travellers is a film about the path Emanuela has travelled ever since. A path that leads through trauma, loss and grief to the river beaches of the Waal, where she encounters the river travellers. It is a story about yielding to the small things and the realisation that tomorrow can be different from today. By carefully washing clean the shards she finds, space emerges for a gentler acceptance of her own brokenness.
