A depiction of people living in the same riverside area in different eras: 1952, 1983, and 1995. Through long takes with horizontal movement, the scenery unfolds through time like a painted scroll, and the images of a fish and a girl jumping into the river connect memories across eras. Quotations from “The Orchid Pavillion Preface” also serve to subtly evoke the eternal flow of time and the transience of human life.
