The Virgin of Pirapitinga
"The Virgin of Pirapitinga" illustrates what would be a legend associated with the Pirapitinga River, in the brazilian states of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. Like the famous legend of the Amazon River porpoise, the Virgin of Pirapitinga would also bewitch those who encountered her on the riverbanks. They say she enchants those who approach her, transforming them into round stones.
