Ugetsu Monogatari: The Curse of the Young Wife

Shotaro Izawa, a man who frequents brothels and indulges in sex and alcohol, marries Isora Kaō, a woman from a distinguished family. On their wedding night, Isora hears a strange sound of a cow bleating. Before marrying Shōtarō, Isora had consulted a fortune teller. She believed that if she boiled water in a cauldron and heard the sound of a bell, it would be a good omen. If she heard the sound of a cow bleating, something terrible would happen. Just as the fortune teller predicted, Shōtarō once again becomes captivated by the sleeves of a seductive courtesan. Isora is driven mad with jealousy. What will be the outcome of this entanglement of male desire and female jealousy...?
