lejandro Medina Medina (born December 23, 2003, in Cádiz, Andalusia) never formally studied film, but his curiosity and constant interest in the arts led him to experiment with filmmaking. He was profoundly shaped during the period he spent living with another artist in a shared apartment while they both pursued their respective university degrees. During this time, he became influenced by underground, kitsch, unconventional, rebellious aesthetics, and everything they collectively perceive as “ijbol and idgaf". Before venturing into filmmaking, he undertook several artistic residencies and placements across Europe in search of avant-garde movements and innovative approaches to artistic creation and the creative process. He has since incorporated these methodologies into his teaching in Architectural Theory and Composition, where, as a teaching assistant, he has explored contemporary avant-gardes and the creative process in its most radical and counter-artistic forms. Medina draws inspiration from the histories of places that leave a lasting mark on him: painters, philosophers, filmmakers, and artists in general from the artistic scenes of his native Andalusia, Madrid, Poland, and Portugal. He has also explored Arab, Levantine, Maghrebi, and Mashriqi art in depth, a line of research that he is currently developing as part of his architectural studies. To date, Medina has directed one short film, Terzerodé (2025), created for the launch of a board game, and the recent PFA: One Last Show (2026). Having also won two Variety Awards and a Golden Olive in 2026 for his contribution to kitsch art and to the spontaneity and compulsive nature of his work. Medina, however, insists that this is merely a brief introduction to his artistic career.
