After feeling bored with his job, he moved to Sydney, Australia. Hans stayed there for twelve years to work in information technology. Then, during a visit to Jakarta, he lived in the same apartment as the late Ria Irawan and Dewi Irawan. Ria uploaded a portrait of Hans on social media and a director asked him to act. Hans also entered the world of acting for the first time by starring in the television film When Bung di Ende in 2013.
